The Finance & Performance Service
Finance and Performance is part of the Environment Directorate and provides a range of functions to assist other Services in the Directorate and across the Authority  - please see links on the left hand side of this page.

What do we do?
Emergency Planning.
The Emergency Planning function is undertaken by a join unit (Denbighshire County Council and Flintshire County Council) based at County Hall, Mold. The team is responsible for coordinating Denbighshire's response to any emergency affecting its community. This may require the mobilisation of County staff and resources as well as assistance from the emergency services, neighbouring local authorities, the utilities, voluntary groups and other organisations. A planned response will mitigate the effects of an emergency incident and assist the community in the return to normality
External Funding
The External Funding team is primarily concerned with the preparation and monitoring of Objective 1 and Interreg project claims across all Directorates. The team is also responsible for the compilation of Local Regeneration Fund grant claims along with the monitoring of Denbighshire's Capital Plan. The team works closely with the Finance team and Development Services and proactively works to ensure that the Authority is fully prepared for all levels of audit. Currently the team is awaiting details of the new Convergence Programme (2007-2013) and is actively seeking opportunities to collaborate with other public bodies on implementing the necessary processes.
Further information on External Funding can be found in the External Links on the left hand side.
Finance
The Financial Processes team provides support for the Directorate in the administration of a variety of finance-based operations. The team assists in maintaining the direct stores system, vehicle maintenance records, and the schools catering mangement system. The main role is the preparation and processing of invoices, orders and staff travelling payments within the prescribed timescales and regulations. The Council is currently implementing a new electronic procurement system and the team will be responsible for the introduction so new systems in the Directorate to support this initiative.
Information & Mapping
The Information and Mapping team is responsible for providing statistical analysis, census information, administering the Mapping Services Agreement, maintaining the Local Land and Property Gazetteer, and assisting with the design and publication of literature / forms. The team also includes responsibility for the creation and implementation of the Directorate GIS Strategy that aims to achieve a broader unified approach to the use of GIS.
Performance & Information Management
The Performance and Management Information team is responsible for coordinating and assisting in the implementation of robust systems for performance and management information including the business planning process. The team also plays a substantial coordinating role with the central ICT Department in the implementation of new systems and hardware. The provision of reception at Caledfryn is an additional responsibility of this section.
Personnel
