The Service is one of five service units within the Environment Directorate. 

Graham Boase is the Head of Service and there is approximately 120 members of staff working for the Service.

The Service has a very diverse range of functions and our primary role is to regulate legislation and take enforcement action where necessary to protect the environment, the health and well-being of individuals and to provide a safer community to those who live and visit the county.
