Directorate Personnel Services
Personnel and Training Services in Denbighshire County Council are provided and delivered at a corporate and devolved level. At Directorate level, the role of directorate personnel and training is to:-
ROLE OF DIRECTORATE
PERSONNEL
- Providing the main point of contact in advising and assisting Directors and managers on personnel issues.
- Administering corporate/ directorate personnel procedures at a directorate operational level.
- Advising the Chief Officer and Directorate Management Team on directorate personnel policies and strategies.
- Training managers in their role as directorate/departmental staff managers.
- Implementing and enforcing corporate personnel policies.
- Challenging bad practices.
- Actively contributing to the development of new strategic personnel policies.
ROLE OF DEPARTMENTAL
TRAINERS
- Assisting managers in identifying staff training needs and advising them on how best those needs can be met.
- Designing programmes to meet specific departmental needs.
- Delivering / co-ordinating department specific programmes.
- Delivering / co-ordinating specialist skills programmes.
- Collaborating with Corporate Training and other Training officers.
- Supporting staff studying for qualifications e.g. H.N.D's NVQ's.etc.
- Briefing staff in relation to directorates / departmental policies.
- Formulating directorates/ departmental training policies and reviewing and evaluating training in their department.
