The Local Land Charges team is responsible for processing Local Authority Searches which is an essential part of buying a property or developing a piece of land.  

The Local Authority Search is a series of standard questions designed to give any potential buyer as much information as possible about the property or land. This is to ensure that you are aware of any local matters affecting the property or land you are about to purchase so that there are no hidden surprises. 

The Local Land Charges team will check for any planning applications or building regulation applications on the property, Tree Preservation Orders on or abutting the property and provide information on adopted roads surrounding the property and any other matters that are requested.
