Joining and Using the Library

Who can join?
Everybody - whatever your age!

How do I join?
By completing a membership form at the library or on the internet, and producing 1proof of ID on your first visit.

Is it free?
Yes - you can borrow books, search for information and use the computers for free. We do charge for borrowing videos, CDs and DVDS.

What can I borrow?
Up to 10 items at a time - books, books on tape, videos, CDs and DVDS.

How long can I keep them?
3 weeks to start with, but they can be renewed up to 5 times if they haven't been requested by somebody else.

What if I'm late?
Fines are charged on late returns, but to avoid this, why don't you contact the library to renew your items?

Do I have to return them to the same library?
No - we have 8 libraries. You are welcome to return your items to the most convenient library.

What if I'm looking for something?
Library staff will be pleased to help you find a particular piece of information or a specific book.
