The Pollution & Scientific Services team investigate complaints of noise made by members of the public and advise regarding the development of potential sources of noise or noisy activities and to minimise the impact of noise on people, especially those affecting their home environment.
We also carry out a range of regulatory functions controlling and maintaining statutory emission limits from industry through: processing applications, investigating complaints, programmed inspections and periodic review of Permitted Installations.
Parts of Denbighshire have been declared Radon Action Areas after some properties have been identified as exceeding the Action Level. We give advice and make comments on Local Land Searches.
We investigate complaints and where necessary take enforcement action on smoke control.
The Environment Act 1995 requires a Local Authority to take the lead role in identifying, assessing and pursuing remediation of contaminated land.
We carry out the statutory monitoring of both public and private water supplies for wholesomeness and sufficiency. We also monitor the quality of bathing and swimming pool waters.
