Green Dragon

The Green Dragon environmental standard is an Environmental Management System made easy through a stepped approach. The standard is made up of five steps each incorporating the elements of planning, taking action, checking progress and reviewing achievements.

The key principles of Green Dragon apply to Denbighshire County Council through developing the Environmental Management System. These principles are:

A Continual Environmental Improvement
B Compliance with Environmental Legislation
C Prevention of Pollution
D Communication of Environmental Issues
E Environmental Management System Elements

Green Dragon Level 1 is currently being sought for the Denbighshire County Council County Hall in Ruthin with plans to progressively expand the EMS.

Environmental Policy (doc, 207.87 KB)   The Environmental Policy outlines the Council's commitment to continuous environmental improvement.
Green Dragon Plan (pdf, 158.12 KB)   This Improvement Plan outlines the strategy of improvement for the Council to progress the Green Dragon Environmental Standard at County Hall. The Improvement Plan will cover the year from April 2008 to March 2009. This is the first Green Dragon Improvement Plan prepared by Denbighshire County Council.
