Estates Management- RENT PAYMENTS

Estates are broken down into team areas, North and South of the County.  One team is based in Brighton Road, Rhyl and the other in County Hall, Ruthin. Within each team there are two Housing Rent Officers who aim to deliver an efficient, cost effective, high quality service to all its customers. The areas covered by each team are as follows:

Denbighshire North

Denbighshire South
 
Bodelwyddan, Cwm, Waen, St Asaph, Cefnmeiriadog, Trefnant, Tremeirchion, Henllan, Bodfari, Denbigh, Aberwheeler, Nantglyn, Llanrhaeadr, Llandyrnog, Cyffylliog, Llanynys, Llanferres, Llangynhafal, Ruthin, Llanbedr, Clocaenog, Llanfair, Llanarmon, Llanelidan, Llandegla, Bryneglwys, Gwyddelwern, Llantysilio, Corwen, Cynwyd, Llandrillo, Llangollen, Betws Gwerfil Goch.

Each team is led by a Senior Housing Officer with responsibility for the provision of estate management functions and all matters concerning the payment of the weekly rent due. On a day to day basis the rent function is administered through Housing Rent Officers, within individual areas, and their main duties include;

  • responding to rent enquiries,
  • sending rent reminder letters,
  • verifying documents and assisting tenants with housing benefit claims,
  • making home visits on tenants in order to advise and agree arrangements for the payment of arrears,
  • taking enforcement action for non payment of rent.

Our Housing Rent Officers actively support the County’s anti poverty strategies to produce services that meet all our customers expectations by being accessible and sensitive to our tenants needs. 

In addition, Housing Rent Officers frequently liaise with other Council Departments and agencies such as other Social Services, Housing Benefit, Welfare Rights, Citizens Advice Bureau.
