Public Rights of Way

Unless indicated otherwise, Denbighshire County Council retains the copyright to all original material shown on this website © 2005.
1. The baseline data was digitised from the Definitive Map for the County of Clwyd which has a relevant date of 31 October 1978.
2 .The definitive map is the legally recognised record of public rights of way and is subject to  occasional change as paths are added, diverted or closed. The map prepared for the web incorporates those changes that have been made to the path network by legal orders between 31 October 1978 and 26 October 2005 that are not incorporated into the present definitive map. The web map is updated on an intermittent basis governed by a variety of factors and not each time a legal change occurs.
3. The definitive map is subject to continuous review. This map is intended as a general aid to those interested in path information. Any questions as to legal status or route should be made to the Rights Of Way unit. This is not a legal record and errors and other omissions are not binding on the authority.
4. The Parish/Communities that are  given reflect parish boundaries as they were before the Wales community boundary review in 1983.
5. The map does not incorporate a number of unsurfaced public vehicular roads and many urban link paths. These are contained in another Highways record, which we hope to provide as an online GIS resource in the future.
6. The data was digitised by WS Atkins in 1995 at a scale of 1:10560.

Listed Buildings

Please note that protection afforded to a listed building relates not only to the primary building but also to any object or structure fixed to the building; and/or any object or structure within the curtilage of the building (in its grounds, garden, enclosure etc.) which, although not fixed to the building, forms part of the land and has done so since before 1st July 1948.
