10/04/2007 - Pupils go on mock trial

Youngsters from three Denbighshire primary schools will learn all about crime and punishment as they go on trial at Denbigh Magistrates Court next week.

The Year 6 pupils from Ysgol Carrog, Ysgol Caer Drewyn (Corwen) and Ysgol Bryn Collen (Llangollen) will get involved in the the usual roles expected in a magistrates court hearing.  They will be provided with a script beforehand and the teachers and pupils will decide who is given which role.

This is the third such event to be held in Denbighshire.

Denbighshire County Council has worked closely with Her Majesty’s Court Service, North Wales Police, HMP Liverpool’s Choose Life Project and the Magistrates Court to deliver the session, taking place on Friday, October 12 at 10am.
