10/24/2007 - Mail scam warning

Denbighshire Trading Standards is making the county's residents aware of a mailing scam which has been confirmed by the Royal Mail.

A card is posted through letter boxes from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that the householder needs to contact them on a premium rate number to arrange collection.

Trading Standards Officers are advising people not to call this number, as it will transfer to a recorded message and residents will be billed £15 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, please contact the Royal Mail Fraud Line on 0207 2396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate service regulator) at www.icstis.org.uk
