Staff at Denbighshire County Council's Finance department will have their golfing skills down to a tee at a special charity golf day being arranged, to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer charity.

Members of the team decided to arrange the event at Denbigh Golf Club on October 26 after some colleagues and relatives suffered from the condition in recent times.

The event will involve both golfers and non golfers, known as hackers.

Trina Jones, one of the organisers along with Chris Jones and Steve Thomas said:'Businesses in Denbighshire have been very generous with donations and prizes for a raffle, which will be drawn on November 5 and we would like to thank them for their support.

'We felt we needed to raise funds for  prostate cancer charity, which has affected a number of close colleagues and relatives. We hope to raise awareness of the illness through the charity golf day, raising funds for a worthy charity and having some fun at the same time'.
