Ysgol Dinas Bran's commitment to international awareness has earned the school a prestigious education accolade.
The school has been given the International Schools Award and is one of only two schools in Wales to win the award three times.
Peter Williams, the school's International Co-ordinator, received the award from the British Council at a ceremony held in the City of London, presented by BBC news presenter George Alygayah.
The International Schools Award is presented to schools that are committed to international awareness and education and that have internationalism forming part of the school's development plan and the curriculum.
Ysgol Dinas Bran has forged has forged links with France, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Italy, Croatia, Belgium, Ireland, Egypt, Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Yemen, Nepal, India, Japan, Brazil and the US.
In addition, it hosts students from Bolzano, on an Ectarc sponsored study link (6th form) and has close links with the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. It has set up an International Students Association, where students from the Upper School meet to co-ordinate ‘country’ days and international themed days, as well as writing the international sheet to go inside the regular school newsletter.
The school also celebrates the wealth to be found in different cultures through themed weeks. It had an Africa week at the end of the last academic year and will be celebrating Japan week at the end of this year. The school regularly hosts teachers from around the globe, with teachers from Yemen due to visit after half term.
