11/12/2007 - Pupils unite in song for Christmas

Talented youngsters from two Denbighshire high schools will be singing a song for Christmas and getting shoppers in a festive spiritat an event being staged in Rhyl later this month.


The’Rhyl Sings Christmas’ event takes place at the Town Hall Square and the White Rose Centre, Rhyl at 5pm on Thursday, November 29th.


Pupils from Rhyl High School and Blessed Edward Jones High School will sing a specially commissioned song by local composer/misud director Steve Allan Jones, called ‘The Heart of Christmas’.


The choir has been formed for this event and is led by Eleri Watkins, Music Co-ordinator for Denbighshire’s Arts in Schools service.


The event will also include a lantern lit parade through the town centre, spectacular stilt walkers, party puppets, St Ann’s Church Choir, a samba band, African drummers and Rhyl Choir.
