Homeswapper is a free service to help Denbighshire County Council, Clwyd Alyn, Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd and Wales and West Housing Association tenants to swap with another tenant, either locally or nationally. You can search for homes at www.HomeSwapper.co.uk without registering and search results even include maps to help you work out the location of the home you may want to swap to but no contact details will be provided.

The chances of finding a mutual exchange are significantly increased because:

* Homeswapper is the largest mutual exchange service in the UK
* You can swap with tenants of any Council or Housing Association within the UK
* Automatically searches every night for potential new swaps - on average 77% of applicants obtain matches
* 2 out of 3 applicants being matched to potential swaps within 24 hours, with the average authorised applicant receiving 38 matches

If you register, HomeSwapper automatically searches every night for potential new swaps and these can be viewed in your private area of the website at anytime. HomeSwapper will send alerts of potential new swaps by email weekly (if you have email) or text message fortnightly (if you have a mobile phone). Remember, you can access the internet for free at libraries throughout Wales and staff maybe able to provide assistance if necessary. If you do not have email or text facilities, you can request that details are sent to you in writing through your landlord.

The scheme provides any Council/Housing Association tenants wanting a transfer to find potential matches that meet their criteria. You can select up to 9 areas where you would consider living.
Homeswapper has been a huge success with tenants of Denbighshire and over 200 applicants are already using the scheme. This is a key part of a wider approach to promote people to look at all the options available to enable them to find a solution to their housing issue.
