Scaffold Permits
Scaffolding must not be erected without a permit.
If you wish to place any scaffolding within the Public Highway including a road, footpath, verge or alleyway, you must get permission from Denbighshire County Council. Scaffolding is licensed by us to ensure;
safe siting and erecting of scaffolding,
the safety of other road and footpath users, and
the continued safe usage.
If you wish to erect scaffolding that might cause an obstruction, you will need to contact a scaffolding company. They will then contact us to arrange a permit for each road affected. The person or company responsible for the scaffolding must provide evidence of public liability insurance to the value of £5,000,000. Whilst Public Liability Insurance is something that all builders and contractors should have, private individuals will often find that it is included within their household insurance.
A charge is made for each permit which lasts for up to a month. If the scaffold will be there for more than a month, a new permit will have to be applied for before the original one expires.
