Transport

• Nantclwyd y Dre does not have its own parking. There is car parking  nearby in (in order of distance) the town square, Dog Lane, Market Street and Clwyd Street. Parking charges apply.
• Nantclwyd y Dre is a short walk from the town square, situated on the right hand side in Castle Street when walking away from the square. Ruthin town centre is on a hill and some streets leading up to the town centre are quite steep.

Main Entrance/Reception Facilities

• House open Fri - Sun 10am – 5pm (last admission 4.15pm) April to end September : Adult £3.60, Child £2.50, Group of 15 or more £2.90, Family £9.00.
• Grade 1* listed building.
• Flat access down side of building with wide door to accessible ticket desk, with 2 fully disabled access toilets leading off. Small retail area.
• Flat access into ground floor of house – small step into first interpretation room – ramp available, flat through to second interpretation room. Shallow ramp leading down into Main Hall (1940’s room).Two steps down into parlour rooms.
• Upper floors accessible by staircase and multimedia virtual tour/presentation in reception area only.
• Access to Summerhouse via flight of steps.

Gardens

• Gardens free admission during open hours.
• Listed landscape.
• Courtyard area flat with firm but slightly uneven paving. Small step down to flat lawn and firm/wide circular path.

Sensory Features

• Interior of the house has intricate carved wooden panelling, traditional drapes and bed/tablecloths and natural flooring which is very tactile.
• Interior flooring (rush matting) has a noticeable natural scent
• The courtyard area contains scented herbs and floral aromas.
• Bird song audible at certain times of the year.
