07/24/2008 - Friday is Fun Day at Nantclwyd y Dre

Enjoy some Summer Holiday fun with a programme of arty and informative events for all ages, which has been lined up for every Friday throughout August at Nantclwyd y Dre, Ruthin.

The fun starts on August 1 with 'Archaeology is Rubbish!' from 11am-1pm and 2-4pm.

The event is free and includes the chance for children to learn what archaeology is, discover how archaeologists use rubbish from the past to learn about our ancestors as well as the chance to get your hands dirty and dig for finds in ‘Spoil Heap Challenge’.

'Creative Day' is on August 8 with a workshop to make a mask 2-4pm (£2.50 per child, includes admission to the house) then join in to help create the 'I like History' collage for another Creative Day on August 15 between 2-4pm (£2.50 per child, includes admission to the house)
'Batty about Nature!'  is on August 22 and offers children the chance to take part in games and activities looking at the wonderful wildlife of Ruthin and in particular the bats that live in the attic rooms at Nantclwyd y Dre and try your hand at making your own ‘bat’ to take home.
This is a mainly outdoor event so participants should wear sturdy shoes/boots and bring a coat just in case! Ideal for ages 6+, though all ages are welcome.
The month-long event ends with a treasure hunt, drawing and colouring for another Creative Day on August 29 between 2-4pm (£2.50 per child, includes admission to the house)

There is no need to book a place, just turn up on the day. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult.
