A new scheme to tackle problems of fuel poverty starts in three areas of Denbighshire this summer.
Warm Wales – Bringing Warm and Healthy Homes to Denbighshire is a partnership programme bringing together support and resources from Denbighshire County Council, National Grid and npower.
Householders living in South East and West Rhyl, West Parade and Denbigh Central will be receiving a visit from the Warm Wales team.
Phil Rider, Operations Director for Warm Wales, said; “‘We will be sending letters & information to all the homes in these areas explaining what Warm Wales is all about and what’s in it for them. We are looking for home owners and landlords who wish to be part of this exciting new project to improve energy efficiency and heating systems in their homes.”
Warm Wales will carry out a FREE energy efficiency report and a FREE technical survey to recommend improvements needed to your property. Householders will also be entitled to a free benefit check and free energy advice.
Denbighshire County Council and Warm Wales have secured funding to deliver this programme; many householders will be entitled to receive free energy efficient measures such as new heating and insulation. In addition, landlords will be able to receive grants towards new or improved heating systems for their homes.
Councillor David Thomas, Cabinet Lead Member for Regeneration, said: “We are very pleased to be working with Warm Wales and to be able to provide the people living in these areas a real opportunity to improve their homes. This is a unique project which aims to really make a difference to people’s lives”.
