A plan setting out how Denbighshire County Council and its partners will work together to improve the health and well-being of children and young people has been given the green light.
The Denbighshire Children and Young People's Plan willl be implemented by the Denbighshire Children and Young People's Partnership (CYPP), which is made up of representatives of the Council, further education, health organisations, police, probation, Youth Offending Team and the voluntary sector.
The Plan sets out how the CYPP will work towards its core aims:
· Early learning , health and well-being for children 0-7 years
· Improved attendance and attainment at school
· Ensuring every young person has the skills for further education and employment
· Help to have healthy lives and to exercise more
· Good support for children who need extra help
· Better play and sports opportunities and the transport to get there
· More opportunities for children and young people to have their say
· More safe, sustainable and affordable homes
· Feeling safe at home, at school and in the community
· Help those affected by severe and persistent poverty
· Working together better
Councillor Morfudd Jones, Cabinet Lead Member for Children and Young People, said: "The membership of the Partnership reflects the need for integrating services, working jointly, co-locating staff and pooling resources are essential if we are to deliver services for the benefit of our children and young people.
"The CYPP has consulted widely on the Plan that's been agreed and the views of the wide range of individuals that contributed have been reflected in the document”.
