08/05/2008 - Quality Award for Rhyl Museum

Denbighshire County Council is pleased to announce that Rhyl Museum within the Rhyl Library, Museum and Arts Centre has been awarded the accreditation of ‘Quality Assured Visitor Attraction’ (VAQAS Cymru) by Visit Wales. This official endorsement shows that the attraction offers its prospective visitors a quality service with high visitor standards.
A visit to Rhyl Museum allows you to discover a flavour of the life and times of the town. You can ‘walk along the pier’ to see showcases highlighting wartime Rhyl, the Edwardian resort, toys and games, and material from Prestatyn Bathhouse. You can even make an appointment to meet the Community Archaeologist for North East Wales.
Rhyl Museum is currently hosting a small exhibition on the 1960s as part of the county-wide Joy of Decades project. Do you remember Sindy’s boyfriend? What packaging did 1960s frozen products come in? What did Rhyl sea front look like in 1960s? Alongside the exhibition you can join in with two free events -
Friday 15 August        Create your own 1960s style money box
Monday 18 August        Swinging Sixties Costume Design
There are also other free events taking place at the museum over the next few months.
Saturday 4th October        Drawing the Seaside
Saturday 13th December        Christmas Glitter
