08/11/2008 - Denbighshire Trading Standards gets ready for Wales Consumer Affairs Week

This is the first consumer awareness week to be held in Wales and the Welsh Heads of Trading Standards, in partnership with Consumer Direct Wales and the Welsh Assembly Government's 'Visit Wales' (formerly the Wales Tourist Board), will be running a themed week from August 18th. The chosen theme is ‘Holidays’.

It will offer people the opportunity to find out more about initiatives such as Visit Wales' new harmonised grading scheme, as well as general advice and information on choosing your holiday, your rights as a consumer, the protection you have if you buy a package holiday either in this country or abroad and how to complain should you need to.

It is also hoped the week-long event will highlight and improve awareness for businesses issues such as the need and cost effectiveness of handling complaints reasonably, quickly and efficiently.
