Registration has opened for the 2008 Wales School Debating Championships and Denbighshire is encouraging students to take part.
The championships, which are run by CEWC-Cymru (Council for Education in World Citizenship) gives students the opportunity to debate important national and global issues in a competitive setting.
All secondary schools and further education colleges are welcome to take part and for a little extra practice, two Debate Training Days have been organised in Cardiff on September 22 and the second at the Town Hall, Rhyl on September 26. In addition, CEWC-Cymru can run interactive workshops in schools on request.
The competition, established in 1990, goes through eight regional rounds in October with the final in November.
The winners could also be in line for a trip to Athens to represent their country and take part in the organisation’s World Schools Debating championships in February.
