08/14/2008 - Council's legal eagles flying high

Denbighshire County Council's legal team is celebrating after successfully retaining an industry accreditation.

Lexcel is the quality mark developed by the Law Society of England and Wales for practices and legal departments which have been independently assessed as having achieved the Practice Management Standards.

The Assessor identified 11 areas of good practice, including:
• A detailed and effective risk management strategy
• Up to date office procedures manual
• File review system operating effectively
• Impressive standard of file management, including recording and back-up of key dates and undertakings and tidy files with a rolling progress summary.

Councillor Rhiannon Hughes, Cabinet Lead Member Personnel and Business Management, said: "I am delighted to congratulate our legal team for their success in renewing this very important industry accreditation.

“It is a testament to the hard work of all staff in the legal department who work tirelessly to maintain high standards of working and it is a credit to them that the assessor has identified many examples of good practice."
