The ‘themed’ 2008 Welsh Consumer Affairs Awareness Week starts today, Monday August 18.
The Welsh Heads of Trading Standards with its Principality partners, Visit Wales and Consumer Direct Wales, offer some information & advice about holidays and tourism.
Thinking of holidaying in Wales? Be confident when choosing your accommodation that it has been checked out, before you check in.
During 2008 all the national assessing bodies, such as Visit Britain, Visit Scotland, Visit Wales & the AA, adopted a common, harmonised grading scheme.
The grading is a star rating scheme. From a single star, indicating simple, practical, no frills accommodation to 5 stars, which offers an exceptional degree of luxury. The star rating reflects both the overall quality of the experience and the facilities on offer. A lower star rating may still offer high quality, but may have less facilities on offer. Check with your choice of accommodation to see what facilities you want and whether they are provided by them.
More information about visiting Wales and Visit Wales’ ‘new’ grading scheme can be viewed at their website, www.visitwales.co.uk
