Care & Social Services Inspectorate Wales
Childminders, independent day nurseries, cylch meithrin, pre school playgroups, out of school clubs and holiday clubs are all registered childcare services within Denbighshire as they provide care for children for 2 or more hours a day.
The CSSIW is the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales; they are the regulatory body responsible for the inspection and registration of all registered childcare in Wales.
When you visit any registered childcare provider you can ask to see their current CSSIW inspection report in addition to other certificates they are obliged to hold such as; First Aid, Criminal records Bureau Check and their Public Liability Insurance certificate.
Parent and toddler groups are also included in this section; they are not required to be registered by the CSSIW if they operate for less than two hours but they do give parents/carers the opportunity to meet with others while their children have an opportunity to play.
