Statistics and data: Clean and tidy streets

Denbighshire performs very strongly in the national street cleanliness measures.

In 2013, Denbighshire scored 82.8 on the Cleanliness Index.  The average score for other areas of Wales was 72.5.

What our residents think

The results from the 2013 residents' survey show that:

  • 73% of residents are satisfied with the overall cleanliness of the streets in their local area.  This includes 18% who said they are very satisfied.
  • 60% of residents said that the biggest problem with street cleanliness in their area is dog fouling.
  • 74% of residents are satisfied with the cleanliness of their nearest town centre.  16% of these said they are very satisfied.
  • 59% of residents said that the issue they are most concerned about in their nearest town centre, is the condition and appearance of buildings and shop fronts.
  • 48% of residents said that dog fouling is the biggest cleanliness issue in their nearest town centre.
