Online council tax bills and benefit notices
You'll have the option to receive your council tax bills or benefits notices online if we have your current email address and mobile phone number.
What will happen
If we have your current email address or mobile telephone number, we will send you a text or email with a link to your council tax bill or benefit notice.
You can either:
- open the link and enter your postcode in uppercase with a space (e.g. LL15 1YN) to view your bill securely
- disregard the message and a paper copy will automatically be posted to your address within 48 hours
When you have viewed your notice online, we will not send it by post.
Add, check or update your details
We can only send your bills or notices this way if we have your current e-mail address and mobile phone number. If you would like to add, check or update your contact details, please contact the council tax or benefits department.
Receiving a bill or notice by post
You can receive your bill or notice by post if you prefer. If you choose not to access your council tax bill or benefits notice online within 48 hours, we will send it by post.
Benefits of online bills and notices
Receiving your bills and notices online will mean that you receive them more-timely and efficiently as well as reducing postage costs.
It will also help towards achieving our aim to become a net carbon zero and ecologically positive council by 2030.
