If you run a business where petrol is stored and dispensed directly into the fuel tank of an internal combustion engine, or if you store large amounts of petrol for private use, you need a licence from the council.

How much does it cost?

The licence fee depends on the amount of petroleum you want to store:

  • up to 25,000 litres: £41
  • between 25,000 and 50,000 litres:  £57
  • more than 50,000 litres:  £120

When you apply for your licence you will pay the fee online, by debit or credit card.
