Business rates: Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Rates Relief

The Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Rates Relief Scheme can reduce a non-domestic rates bill for businesses in the retail, leisure, and hospitality sectors.

What's available through this scheme

The maximum rates relief allowed through this scheme across all properties occupied by the same business in Wales, is £110,000 for each financial year.

For example, if you have received £100,000 Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Rates Relief from another council in Wales, we would only be able to award £10,000 across your business properties in Denbighshire.

2023-2024

Eligible business can receive a 75% reduction to their non-domestic rates net liability in 2023-24

2024-2025

Eligible business can receive a 40% reduction to their non-domestic rates net liability in 2024-25.

How to apply

To apply for this scheme, you will need to complete an application form for each financial year that you would like to apply to receive relief for.

If you have more than one business property in Wales, you will need to specify which properties you would like the relief to be applied to.
