FIS training: Managing Health and Safety in Early years settings workshop

This workshop is for specifically designed owners, managers, supervisors, and committee members.

This interactive 3 hour workshop helps learners understand the legislative requirements and responsibilities for managing health and safety.

By the end of the workshop learners will:

  • be aware of their overall responsibility
  • be able to provide an induction and ongoing training for staff
  • understand health and safety breaches and possible consequences and sanctions
  • have an awareness of fire safety
  • have an awareness of manual handling
  • have an awareness of infection prevention and control
  • how to maintain good health & safety
  • be able to maintain records
  • be able to perform internal health and safety auditing

When and where do courses take place?

The Managing Health and Safety in Early years settings workshop takes place:

  • Tuesday 18 June 2024, from 5;30pm to 8:30pm at the Oaktree Centre (Rhyl)
  • Tuesday 2 July 2024, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at Ruthin Rugby Club

Who can attend?

This workshop is only for registered childcare providers in Denbighshire who are registered, or are registering, with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) (external website).

The setting must also be registered with Dewis.Wales (external website)

How to get involved

There is a charge of £40 per person to attend this workshop and each person who wants to attend will need to complete the online booking request form.

After receiving a booking request, we will send an invoice to the childcare provider which must be paid promptly.
