You must not erect scaffolding without getting a licence first.
If you want to put scaffolding on a road, pavement, footpath, verge or alleyway, you must get a licence from the council.
How do I apply?
We only accept applications from scaffolding companies with £5 million public liability insurance. Individual members of the public can not apply for a scaffolding licence.
If you want to erect scaffolding on the road, pavement, footpath, verge or alleyway you must contact a scaffolding company who will apply for a licence on your behalf. They will contact us to arrange a permit for each road affected.
The scaffolding company should complete this application form and send it to the email address on the form.
How much does it cost?
A fee of £69.30 (up to 10m), £86.90 (10m-50m) and £104.50 (Over 50m) per month for the scaffolding licence is payable in advance to Denbighshire County Council.
An additional charge of £12.10 per day is applicable if the scaffolding is in a prohibited, restricted, or suspended area. An additional fee of £115.50 applies to scaffolding found on the highway without a licence.
