Project updates
Final project summary (Transition Year 2025–26)
Additional staff were brought in to support priority work across a number of identified areas. These teams were deployed where they were most needed, helping to target specific issues and deliver visible improvements on the ground.
To help show the difference this work made, before and after photographs were taken at each location. This enabled progress to be clearly demonstrated and ensured that improvements could be properly reviewed.
Regular checks were also carried out to assess how effective the work had been and to confirm that it met local needs.
Project summary December 2022 to March 2025
This project focused on seasonal street cleaning in high-footfall areas. It delivered 50,000 m² of improved public realm and created 11 jobs, helping maintain the cleanliness and attractiveness of tourist areas.
March 2024
Staff were successfully recruited for the 2023/24 season, and the project will soon be looking to recruit staff for the 2024/25 season.
Agency staff were employed for the Easter holidays and this will gradually increase leading up to the summer holiday season as it did last year.
