Children Services

Our service is committed to improving the life chances of the most vulnerable children and young people and their families in Denbighshire, and wherever possible, enabling them to live safely in their communities.

Our aim is to make sure that we have the right balance of staffing, resources and services to provide positive experiences, effectively meet needs and promote positive outcomes for children and young people and their families both now and in the future.

Working in partnership with families, partner agencies and community based organisations enables us to provide a holistic and co-ordinated approach to delivering services that effectively meet the needs of children, young people and families.

Adult Social Care and Homelessness Service

Adult Social Care and Homelessness Service is a diverse service area with the common purpose of supporting individuals to develop the skills and confidence they need to maintain or regain their ability to manage their own social care, health and housing support needs, using their own social networks, resources and communities where possible.

There is an increasing focus on prevention and early intervention. Our staff work in partnership with individuals, their families and other agencies in aiming to achieve this.

Our vision is to support individuals to maintain or recover their independence by providing early intervention and prevention services that also support the development of individuals' and communities' resilience and not reliance on formal care services.

This vision is delivered through working in partnership with local communities, health, the 3rd sector and others to deliver both mainstream and targeted services that promote independence and resilience.

About Denbighshire

Denbighshire is a great place to live and work.

Denbighshire stretches from the coastal resorts of Rhyl and Prestatyn in the north, through the Vale of Clwyd, over the panoramic Horseshoe Pass into the picturesque Dee Valley. The bustling town of Llangollen is home to the annual International Music Eisteddfod and on the edge of the recently designated World Heritage Site of Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Llangollen canal.

Not only are we fortunate to be located in a truly stunning area of the UK, we also have excellent transport links. Along the A55, Liverpool, and Chester are within an hour’s drive, and Holyhead and Manchester just an extra 20 minutes.

As a County Council we are an ambitious, flexible and agile organisation who place employees and communities at the forefront of our decision making. We want Denbighshire to be the best it can be for our communities and for future generations.

Don’t live in Denbighshire? We offer a generous relocation package for qualified children’s social workers who are relocating to work for us.
